Our new CNC at the shop has been a blast to work with. A few have learned how to do standard cuts using regular end mills. However, I have also learned the process of doing v-carving using a free piece of software called F-Engrave.
F-Engrave has not been overly intuitive to me. However, it is free and can do some great things once you learn to use it.
I have a written description of how to use the software at my website. I also made a video on the process of setting up a job in F-Engrave.
If you are new to using the CNC, this may not be where you want to start. But, at some point you will probably want to do v-carving. Give it a try using F-Engrave.
